Snowy Sunday
Day 51
A light dusting of snow covered the ground and rooftops upon waking up in the morning. Things were noticeably more quiet as I made my way outside, many of the shops were closed for Sunday. The snowfall had already stopped as I worked my way back up to the viewpoint area I had visited the day before to get a view of the now snow covered rooftops. I have always loved the way snow looks, covering everything. It seems to add a touch of character to things that would otherwise look mundane.
My next stop was the Croatian National Theatre. I really like how this building looks, great color combo with the green and yellow. Each level has its own bit of character, the bottom with the clean brick lines and square shapes, the middle with the columns and arched window tops, and the top towers going back to the square shapes and lines.
There were a few more interesting buildings in the area surrounding the theatre.
Made my way back towards the hotel and noticed this construction project on this old building. They had removed the top dome of the tower and set it on the ground below. With a close-up view of the green tower cap you could see just how thin the aged metal actually was, much more flimsy looking than I expected.
Not much else to tell for the day, took it a little slower paced for Sunday. Did a bit of sermon listening and went to bed early.
